Overall, empty leg flying offers a cost-effective, flexible, and luxurious alternative to searching for a private jet to charter.

    What is an Empty Leg?

An empty leg is a private jet flying without passengers. This happens when an aircraft drops off passengers at their destination and returns home "empty", or when it flies "empty" to pick up passengers at another airport.

Empty legs are all about utilizing the spare capacity of a private jet. For example, if you’re travelling to a popular destination such as St. Barths, Saint-Tropez, New York, Los Angeles, or Miami the chances of a suitable empty leg are increased as private jets will be travelling between to/from these destinations more frequently.

Empty leg flights are often significantly cheaper than regular private jet charters because they occur when a jet needs to return to its base or next destination empty after dropping off passengers. This allows travelers to experience the luxury of private jet travel at a fraction of the cost.

    Why is ElF Better?

ELF gives the power back to the client!

    Regular Charter

The old school way of chartering an airplane involves contacting a broker who finds you a few quotes from several operators he or she works with. These quotes often neglect most possible empty legs out there that operators are trying till fill up for extrenmely cheap prices. Connecting end Clients to the best broker for that particular trip has not been exploited, because the benefit to the end client is almost unbelievable.

    Buying Your Own Airplane

The luxury and flexibility of owning your own airplane comes at a hefty price. Finding the rigth aircraft, waiting years for an order position, or even the costs associated with the crew, hangar, maintenance, or manangement all play a factor. Charter Operators must comply with FAA Part 135 compliance and keep airplanes in rigorous maintenace and checks almost uncomparable to what a priavte owner would need to do. The value of safety has no price.

    Fractional Ownership

Fractional Ownership programs allow you to enter the ownership game at a lower cost, but the managment companies or program creators often charge you more when you fly your plane than the actual cost of operating. In addition to that yearly dues, and maintennace fees can add up. If not managed correctly, a part needing replacement on the aircraft may lead to the owners coming out of pocket for unexpected expenses.

I have a business in NY and in Miami and often charter a plane to fly between the two. I thought that 25k -30k was a fair price until I booked my first trip with ELF.
